Our Services and Treatments

Our aim is to treat your condition or injury in the most effective way, using the wide range of treatments available to relieve pain, encourage recovery and
prevent reoccurrence. All of the conditions we treat are treated using a functional approach, utilising various techniques known in the physiotherapy field as the "Normal Movement" concept.

Diagnosis comes before treatment, and the client is always assessed first and their primary problems identified. Treatment is then centred around
the individual components which are causing these difficulties. A 'component'
for example, may be increased or decreased muscle tone, muscle weakness,
joint stiffness, sensory or coordination difficulties and so on.
In our section on treatments we highlight a number of common ailments, their causes and symptoms. Download sheets are available for you to print and read.

Common treatments available at our clinic:

Sports injuries:

We treat soft tissues and joint-related sports injuries from any sports. Typically, this will be from the initial, acute phase, through to final rehabilitation and full return to fitness.

Back pain:
We treat back pain caused by injury, disc degeneration, arthritic conditions, post-operative and posture-related pain. Our solutions range from mobilisations, manipulation, the use of electrical equipment, acupuncture, deep soft tissue, massage and postural and ergonomic advice.

Joint and Arthritic pain:
We can treat any joint in the body affected by inflammation, chronic or acute. This includes trauma, arthritic changes or repetitive injury such as tendonitis.

Gynaecological problems:
We assess and treat many problems, such as stress incontinence, pubic symphysis dysfunction and pre- and post-labour complications.

Osteoporosis:
We can assist in the prevention of osteoporosis in young people prior to the menopause, and exercises for post-menopausal women. We can also aid in recovery following a bone fracture. Treatments consist of pain relief, balance exercises and strengthening programmes.

Acupuncture:
We use acupuncture for pain relief from headaches, arthritic pain, inflammatory pain, sciatica etc. This is often used in conjunction with other treatment modalities.

Laser treatment:
Laser is used to treat inflammatory problems such as tendonitis and acute ligament sprain such as ankle or groin strain.
It also helps to break down thickened scar tissue post-operatively

Ultrasound:
This is used to treat inflammation and speed up the healing process. It is often used in conjunction with other treatments.

Orthotics:
Our specially-trained physios can assess and fit appropriate orthotics, which are vital in treating problems which are posturally-related, and often caused by flat feet. Flat feet can also often cause secondary pain, such as knee pain, hip pain, lower back pain and shin splints.

We also have experience in treating neurological conditions such as CVAs (Strokes), Parkinsons disease, MS, spinal cord injuries, head and brain injuries and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
